Alzheimer’s Association Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia

Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. Join this free and virtual educational program on Thursday, July 28 starting at 4 p.m. to learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s; the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia; stages and risk factors; current research and treatments available for some symptoms; and Alzheimer’s Association resources.
This educational program is being offered this month from the Tennessee Alzheimer’s Association.

Tennessee State Museum Summer Activities

Join in on the fun at the Museum this summer for a variety of activities happening Tuesdays thru Saturdays.
Hands-On History
Tuesday - Saturday
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Museum historic interpreters will present a program throughout the galleries, such as what Civil War soldiers carried in their haversacks, life on the early Tennessee frontier, and how Tennessee women helped American women gain the right to vote. Presentations and gallery location will vary daily.

Painting the Smokies Gallery Tour

Thursday - Saturday
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Join one of the guides for stories on the art and artifacts featured in the Museum’s newest exhibition, Painting the Smokies: Art, Community, and the Making of a National Park.

Aaron Deter-Wolf to speak at the August meeting of the
Bellevue Harpeth Historic Association

Aaron Deter-Wolf, Pre- historic Archaeologist for the Tennessee Division of Archaeology in Nashville, will speak at the August Meeting of the Bellevue Harpeth Historic Association. His topic is “Ice Age Nashville”.
The meeting will be held at the Bellevue Public Library, 720 Baugh Road, at 6:15 p.m. on Monday August 8. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
