The October 2017 “Lawn of the Month” award was presented by Hal Perry to the Xu’s family, who reside at 652 Des Moines Drive. They were very honored that their home was chosen for the October Beautification promotion. The Xu’s family have lived in Tulip Grove for 3 years now. Being immigrants from China, they enjoy the quiet, lovely, and friendly neighborhood. The owner of the home, Shaochi, is an artist, teaching at the Global Education Center in Nashville. Shaochi and her sisters praise their parents for making the lawn and landscaping look so nice. Their father, Yinguan, worked as a stage engineer and their mother, Sufen, was a professional Opera singer in the Peking Opera in China. They met during an Opera production and have been happily married ever since! Yinguan loved gardening when he was in China and has enjoyed working around their beautiful lawn area since their arrival to Tennessee. Yinguan and Sufen often take long walks around the neighborhood and they are impressed with how beautiful the area is and what other homeowner’s have planted in the given yards.
The Xu’s love the new fall season decorations and they love Chrysanthemum.

They also love fruit trees and most recently planted a fig tree in on the front lawn area. They plan on adding 2 more Pomegranate trees to hopefully add more color to the front lawn area.
