– Young Leaders Council Party –
Young Leaders Council alumni and their guests attended a party at the home of Shay and Randy Howard to celebrate training 95 men and women for nonprofit board leadership in 2011.
More than 140 people, including members of YLC classes 56 and 57, attended the party and enjoyed bruschetta, assorted cheeses and cheese tortes, sweet and spicy meatballs, grilled kielbasa bites with beer mustard, and cake shots prepared by Jo's Custom Cakes and Catering.
At the party, YLC board chair James Crumlin recognized the 2011 Young Leader of the Year, Brian Taylor, a 1999 graduate of YLC Class 33, who has served on the YLC board since 2004 including two years as Board Chair.
Crumlin urged the attendees to visit www.ylcnashville.org to apply online for upcoming classes, and see a list of all YLC alumni from the past 26 years and nonprofits who are looking for new board members.

– Human Rights Campaign Kickoff –
The Human Rights Campaign Table Captain Party and event kickoff was hosted by David Taylor and Michael Ward.
It was announced the honorees at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner will be Keith Merrill and Vice Mayor Diane Neighbors, and Emmylou Harris will be the performer. Event chairs are Jeremy Davis, Ian May and Andrea Guennewig.
The Human Rights Campaign Patron Party will be Friday, February 24 at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, and the main event is set for Saturday, February 25 at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.
At the kickoff, guests enjoyed some Mardi Gras fare such as creole pork tenderloin with cajun salsa on focaccia, black bean and roasted corn salad, fruit and cheese, black-eyed pea pate, mini-king cakes, and peanut butter and chocolate Elvis torte with dark chocolate, banana-white chocolate and peanut-butter mousse layers.

– Hermitage Gala Breakfast –
The 2012 Hermitage Gala was officially launched at a breakfast event held at the Cabin-by-the-Spring on the Hermitage grounds.
Guests dined on quiche and berry wraps prepared by Chef’s Market while Ladies Hermitage Association Regent Emily Reynolds welcomed everyone and gala Co-chairs Gina Lodge and Sarah Lodge Tally, provided an event overview.
The Hermitage Gala is a black-tie event set for Friday, April 27 at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. The Jackson Award will be presented to Jim Lehrer, Emmy award-winning journalist and author best known for the PBS NewsHour, as well
as for serving as emcee for 11 presidential debates.
Gala proceeds help fund the education and preservation programs of The Hermitage, former home of President Andrew Jackson.

– Franklin Road Academy Songwriters Night –
Franklin Road Academy hosted its annual Songwriters Night at Puckett’s Grocery and the star-studded line-up included Steve Cropper, one of the original members of the Blues Brothers; Jonathan Cain, keyboardist and longtime member of Journey; and Kim Tribble, hit songwriter for artists ranging from Journey to Martina McBride.
Guests enjoyed bacon wrapped green beans, sesame asparagus, Greek pasta salad, cheese and fruit tray, smoked salmon, beef tenderloin and biscuits, crab cakes, and mini chocolate chess and key lime pies.
Cain will be joining his fellow Journey band members as the headline group at Franklin Road Academy’s largest fundraising event, Stars and Guitars, to be held at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center on Friday, February 24. Comedian Henry Cho will be the evening’s opening entertainment.
Tickets are available to the public from the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

– Ballet Ball Table Host Party –
The Ballet Ball Table Host Party was held at the home of Nancy and John Cheadle to get people excited about getting up tables for the event.
Chefworks provided beef tenderloin, shrimp on grit cakes, rollers, fruit and cheese, vegetables and dip, numerous mini desserts and much more and a big centerpiece on the table included Stargazer lilies, roses and lots of other blooms.
The Ballet Ball is set for Saturday, March 3 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The Civil Wars will perform, accompanying Nashville Ballet dancers for a one-time-only performance.
