Eve of Janus
The Eve of Janus Ball was held this year at the Country Music Hall of Fame, where everyone enjoyed a seated dinner, presentation of the Signs of the Times and Marshals, and music by the Atlanta Allstars at the black tie event.
The Signs of the Times are outstanding young women who are selected to be honored during the presentation at the Eve of Janus Ball. While this tradition was a constant for 34 years, in 2003 young men began to be honored as well. The young men, known as Marshals, escort the Signs during the presentation.
Eve of Janus General Chairmen were Anna Jirikovec Norton and Laurie Brothers Seabury. Honorary Chairman was Howard Katzenstein, MD, and Junior Honorary Chairman was J. Carlton Smith, III.
Katzenstein conducts exciting research on drug development for pediatric sarcomas and, in particular, Ewing’s sarcoma, which is partially funded by Eve of Janus proceeds.
