New childcare program opens in Hermitage

Stay & Play Drop-In Child- care announced last week that its new childcare facility located at 3968 Dodson Chapel Road is now open. A grand opening celebration was held on Saturday, December 16 and included an official ribbon cutting presented by the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce.

“We are extremely excited to be able to provide safe and reliable childcare for families in the area,” owner of Stay & Play, Shantrelle E. Johnson, said. “As a busy working parent, I understand the need for flexibility. Traditional work schedules are evolving and schools have snow days. Families need childcare they can depend on.”

Stay & Play Drop-In Child-care is a state licensed short-term child care center located in a 1,400 square foot facility which, according to Johnson, offers a video surveillance system and electronically locking doors. The playroom is configured to promote play and interaction among the children at the center, featuring developmentally and age-appropriate activities for each age group.

The childcare center also offers a Parent’s Day Out program for families looking for more structured childcare. Open to youth ages 12 months to 5 years, the program features educational curriculum tailored to each age group, taught by trained caregivers.
