Mayor’s budget gives $5 million for Donelson area library

Five-million dollars was set aside as a capital expenditure in next year’s Metro Budget for a new library in the Donelson area, along with opening additional branches on Fridays.

Mayor Megan Barry delivered her first State of Metro address on Friday, April 29, presenting the first-ever city budget over $2 billion.

Other capital expenditures included in the budget are spending $40 million to start work on a new Hillsboro High School, $60 million on sidewalks and road paving, funds to expand the network of greenways, and to build the Smith Springs Community Center in Southeast Nashville.

The current Donelson Branch opened in 1966.
