Rhino Books in Green Hills is set to close in about two weeks after a 15-year run.
Owned by songwriter Fred Koller, the used bookshop, which faces the Lipscomb University campus, operates in a small masonry building owned by Draper Family Partners LP.
Now, Koller said he wants to focus his time exclusively on his Rhino Booksellers that operates at 4918 Charlotte Pike. Positioned across the street from the Richland Park Library, that shop has operated for 10 years. It currently has one full- and one part-time employee.
Koller said there is a possibility a replacement bookstore might take the roughly 800-square-foot space in the 4010 Granny White Pike building.
Not withstanding Rhino, the only other well-known used bookstore in the general Melrose/Green Hills area is Howlin’ Books, which operates
