Relay for Life of Nashville kick off rally
Cancer survivors, caregivers and community members are invited to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Nashville kick off Thursday, Feb. 9 at McCabe Community Center, 101 46th Ave. N. beginning at 6 p.m. The rally will feature event information, games and honor cancer survivors and caregivers.

GJCC hosts art exhibits
The Gordon Jewish Community Center announces its February Art Exhibit to include the work of Brian Nash, Garth Potts and Lori Gilmore. The exhibit opening will be held on Feb. 9 from 7 – 9 p.m. and will feature an exclusive Valentine jewelry sale and live music by Tom Shinness.

Valentine dance and spaghetti Supper
Barth Vernon United Methodist Church, 6200 Robertson Rd., invites the public to a Valentine dance and spaghettie supper Saturday, Feb. 11 from 5 - 8 p.m. Cost is $6 per adult and $3 per child.
Dulcimer music performed at Buchanan House
The Buchanan Log House, located at 2910 Elm Hill Pk., continues its free visits to the House during February. The costumed docent will welcome visitors for an informal visit on Saturday, Feb. 11, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The docent, who is a member of the Grand Old Dulcimer Club, and students from the VSA/Blair Dulcimer Choir will play on Saturday mid-day.

VFW Post 1970 Valentine’s dinner & dance
The VFW Post 1970, located at 7220 Charlotte Pk., will have its Valentine’s dinner on Friday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. with music for dancing at 8 p.m. Cost is $15 per couple or $7.50 for a single. Call the post at 615-352-9933 after 4 p.m. daily.

Beyond February at Keeton Theatre
NewBirth Players will present “Beyond February” a Black History Production in collaboration with The Keeton Theatre, Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Tickets for "Beyond February" are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Rain garden workshop at Radnor Lake Center
Mekayle Houghton of the Cumberland River Compact will give instructions on planning, building and maintaining a rain garden.
A rain garden filters rainwater, improves water quality and reduces flooding and drought, all while creating natural habitat and reducing the grass you have to mow.
Everyone is invited to the Feb. 9 event that begins at 7 p.m. at Radnor Lake Visitor Center, 1160 Otter Creek Rd.
