Everyone loves a parade! And those who turned out to watch the Donelson Christmas parade weren’t hampered by the chilly Saturday afternoon. Hosted by the Donelson Hermitage Chamber of Commerce, the 33rd annual parade began at 2 p.m. last Saturday at Elm Hill Pike and Donelson Pike, traveled along Donelson Pike past Fifty- Forward Station on to the Music City Star depot. The Grand Marshall this year was Tim Rushlow who was the former singer of the country group, Little Texas, is currently performing at Nashville Palace.
This year marks the 33rd year of Larry Keeton as Santa and Cary Street, Executive Director of the Donelson Hermitage Chamber of Commerce, states to her knowledge that he has been the only Santa each and year ever since the parade first started. Mr. Keeton who owns Dick’s Flowers on 2294 Lebanon Road will be retiring from being Santa this year. The Larry Keeton Theatre located at 108 Donelson Pike is named after Mr. Keeton.
Thanks goes to those who participated in the parade, whether floats, vehicles, music, etc. All attendees enjoyed Christmas spirit.
