Ashley Alexander has joined Anderson Benson Insurance & Risk Management as an account manager specializing in commercial lines.
Alexander brings more than 20 years of experience in insurance to the firm. She has worked with clients of various sizes in commercial and personal lines.
Before joining Anderson Benson, Alexander worked at Scott Insurance. She is a Certified Insurance Service Representative by the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.
Steve Jaynes has joined FirstBank as a senior vice president and will head up FirstBank’s private banking group. Jaynes will be based in Nashville and work out of FirstBank’s newest financial center on West End Avenue.
Jaynes joins FirstBank with nearly 40 years of experience, most recently as senior vice president and director of private client banking – medical and professional services at Avenue Bank.
During his three years with Avenue Bank, Jaynes was responsible for leading Private Banking, as well as overseeing the Medical and Professional Services division, which serves the needs of physicians and physician practice groups. At SunTrust, Jaynes founded its Medical and Professional Services division and served as the managing director of Private Wealth Management for Nashville.
Jaynes received his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville University in Florida and attended the School of Commercial Banking at Vanderbilt University, as well as the School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia. He and his wife reside in downtown Nashville.
First Freedom Bank
Emily Duncan has joined First Freedom Bank as Deposit Operations Representative, announced John Bradshaw, President and Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to her employment with First Freedom, Emily served 12 years with One- America in Indianapolis, most recently as a Supervisor in the Retirement Planning Division.
Emily earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Lipscomb University in 1993. Originally from Lewisburg, TN, she currently resides in Hermitage.
InfoWorks, a management consulting company, announced that Dustin Wuest has joined its team as a senior business consultant and Lane Newsom as a principal consultant.
Wuest, with 15 years of experience, will help promote the healthcare services business of the company and engage with clients to optimize value delivery.
Wuest’s experience includes leading revenue cycle management teams in developing innovative solutions, currently used in more than 25 percent of U.S. hospitals. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Studies and Business from Vanderbilt University.
Newsom, with 15 years of change management and business strategy experience, will help promote the healthcare services practice of the company and work with clients to drive stakeholder experience and activation through major business transformations.
Newsom’s experience includes leading organizations of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 10 companies, through business critical transformations. Her specialties include cross-functional process re-design, organizational design, and aligning IT with business and operational units.
Newsom earned a Bachelor of Science in Math and a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Florida, as well as her MBA in Strategy from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
Metro Nashville Public Schools
Director of Schools Dr. Shawn Joseph has hired the final member of his executive cabinet, completing the leadership team for Metro Nashville Public Schools. Dr. Jana Carlisle will join the team as chief of staff beginning September 15. Dr. Carlisle currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer at the NYC Leadership Academy, a nonprofit that has helped develop educational leadership talent in New York and across the country since 2003.
As the Chief of Staff, Dr. Carlisle will lead collaboration between internal and external stakeholders to integrate the strategic research and planning happening right now with work that was begun prior to Dr. Joseph’s arrival.
She will help bridge existing district programs and community initiatives, like Project RESET from the Nashville Public Education Foundation, with new research and efforts.
Dr. Carlisle’s leadership will unify all of these elements in order to develop and implement a bold new strategic plan that will articulate Metro Schools’ vision for the future. In addition to the departments that will directly report to her, Dr. Carlisle will closely collaborate with the three major divisions of Metro Schools: Division of Teaching and Learning, Division of School Improvement and Support, and Operations Division.
Dr. Carlisle is originally from Michigan and has spent 25 years in education working in leadership roles for public school districts, nonprofit organizations and the philanthropic community.
