Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is pleased to welcome three new attorneys to the firm.
Meredith Edwards Collins rejoins the firm’s healthcare practice, working with companies, private equity groups and venture funds as they navigate the regulatory risks associated with mergers, acquisitions, investments and divestitures within the healthcare industry. Collins earned her law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law (2009) and received a B.S. from Belmont University (2006).
Kate Hunter concentrates on investigations and litigation related to inquiries involving alleged violations of the False Claims Act (FCA), the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), various securities laws and other federal statutes. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Hunter was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Norton Rose Fulbright. Hunter earned her LL.M. and law degree from Duke University School of Law (2012) and received a B.A. from Tufts University (2006).
Timothy Van Hal advises clients on a variety of corporate, securities and capital markets law matters including advice related to initial public offerings, high yield indentures and redemptions and investment grade debt offerings. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Van Hal practiced at Fresh-fields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Frankfurt, Germany. Van Hal earned his law degree from Vanderbilt Law School (2013) and received a B.A. from Georgetown University (2009).
Crosslin & Associates
Crosslin has expanded its audit and entrepreneurial business services teams. Lindsey Fifield and Daniel Noonan have joined as audit seniors, Will Hicks, Charlie Curtis, and Marcus Noll come on board as audit team members, and Shaun Barber and Stefani Schrader have joined as entrepreneurial accountants.
Fifield most recently worked as a senior staff accountant for Wojeski & Company CPAs in East Greenbush, New York. She received her master’s degree in professional accountancy and bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University at Albany, Suny.
Noonan most recently worked as a senior auditor for Honkamp Krueger & Co. in Davenport, Iowa. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Iowa.
Hicks served in the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. He received his master’s degree in accountancy from Lipscomb University and bachelor’s degree in accounting from Harding University.
Curtis received his master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Mississippi and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Trinity University.
Noll most recently worked as an account associate for Tempur Sealy International in Lexington, Kentucky. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University.
Barber most recently served as an accountant at a regional public accounting firm. He also has served as the program coordinator for the International Children’s Heart Foundation. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting and marketing from Christian Brothers University. He has performed volunteer work with Arts Memphis, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, and M*Pact Memphis.
Schrader served in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program at Transylvania University. She also held a finance internship with the Studer Group in Pensacola, Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Transylvania University and has received the Advanced Certified Income Tax Preparer designation from the Internal Revenue Service.
First Freedom Bank
Keleigh Carnes has joined First Freedom Bank as Customer Service Representative at the bank’s Mt. Juliet office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.
Carnes was born in Hendersonville and moved to Springhill, Florida, when she was a small child. She returned to Middle Tennessee when she was 17, and now resides in Mt. Juliet.
She is a graduate of Wilson Central High School. Carnes is a member of United Church in Gallatin, and she volunteers at a nursing home in Mt. Juliet.

Scott Troxel has been elected as the 2017 President of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors®. He is affiliated with Keller Williams Realty and will be sworn in Thursday, December 8. His one-year term of service will begin January 1, 2017.
