Advance Financial has announced that Scott Bojczuk has joined the company as chief administrative officer and general counsel. In his role Bojczuk will use his business, legal and operational experience to advise the company through its future growth. He will report directly to Chief Executive and Chief Experience Officer Tina Hodges.
Bojczuk has spent much of his career serving in executive and legal roles for financial services companies, including Electronic Funds Source LLC, Direct General Corporation, and Jackson Hewitt Inc. He will oversee several departments at Advance Financial, including Compliance and Legal Affairs and Office and Facilities Management, as well as the Advance Financial Foundation and the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts.
A graduate of Bucknell University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Bojczuk is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel. He has published work for the Aspatore Law Books’ Inside the Minds Series and was featured as in-house counsel in The National Law Journal.
Earl Swensson Associates (ESa)
Kristin Perry joins ESa as the newest member of the firm’s architecture team. Originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Kristin graduated from Mississippi State University in 2014, with honors, earning her Bachelors of Architecture. She has been working in the Nashville area since graduation.
ESa is a 56-year-old, Nashville-based architectural firm that designs healthcare facilities, education facilities, hospitality venues, corporate office buildings, senior living communities and facilities for communities and the arts. Ranked as Nashville’s largest architectural firm, ESa is located at Gulch Crossing, 1033 Demonbreun Street.
Associate Professor William M. Akers is returning as Chair of Belmont University’s Motion Pictures program. As the founding chair in 2013, Akers created the curriculum for the program and was instrumental in the design and construction of the Milton and Denice Johnson Center, where the department is housed. Since its inception, the program has grown from 12 students to 210. In this position, Akers mentors students and assists the department’s faculty while writing sequels to his two books, “Your Screenplay Sucks: 100 Ways to Make it Great” and “Mrs. Ravenbach’s Way.”
In addition to his position at Belmont, Akers also works as a script consultant for clients all over the world. He is a founding board member of eiACE, the Entertainment Industry Association of Consultants and Educators and sits on the boards of the Nashville Composers Association and the University Film & Video Association.
Akers received a B.S. in Visual & Written Creative Expression from Vanderbilt University and an M.F.A. in Cinema Production from the University of Southern California. He has been writing features and television for 25 years and is a Lifetime Member of the Writers Guild of America.
Patterson Intellectual Property Law
Patterson Intellectual Property Law is pleased to announce that Registered Patent Agent Alex Huffstutter has joined Patterson Intellectual Property Law as an associate. He will work in the firm’s electrical patent and software IP practices.
A Nashville native, Huffstutter’s areas of expertise include recent technical innovations in electrical engineering including graphene synthesis. He is a 2017 graduate of Belmont University College of Law. He earned his B.E., with honors, in Electrical Engineering at Vanderbilt Uni-versity in 2013. Alex is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
Petra Coach, a nationally recognized Nashville-based coaching firm for business leaders and entrepreneurs, has announced the addition of three new team members: Kristin Toft, Kelley Boland and Jennel Wilson.
Kristin Toft joins the team as Director of Membership Development. In her new role, she will pursue strategic sales and marketing opportunities and cultivate and maintain member companies. Most recently, Toft served as Business Development Director for Gartner, Inc., where she led account teams and managed more than $2 million worth of business across multiple territories. While there, she also developed a methodology for improvement of sales and marketing systems known as Schemata. She earned her bachelor’s degree in legal studies and business management from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Kelley Boland joins the Petra Coach team as Coach Coordina- tor. She will provide assistance to Petra coaches and help teach, direct and support member companies as they reach their organizational goals. Prior to joining Petra, Boland worked as business development manager for Rezult Group, Inc. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in organizational communication and her master’s degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU).
Jennel Wilson joins as a Planning Coordinator, overseeing the preparation and ongoing inventory management of planning materials for member kickoff sessions, planning days and post-planning recaps. Wilson previously worked in the wireless industry.
Nashville-based commercial real estate and design firm Southeast Venture announced today the addition of Lindsey Taylor to the company’s interior design team.
Taylor will assist in the design development and production of drawings and renderings for a variety of project types at Southeast Venture. Most recently, she worked as a freelance 3D architectural renderer and as a project designer for a prominent furniture dealer, where she gained skills in planning and specification.
Taylor is an associate member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and has experience in design for large corporate and education organizations. She earned her bachelor’s degree in interior design from Middle Tennessee State University.
